A severe drought begins to threaten the entire ant community. A platoon, made of the strongest insects plans a rescue mission, but the inept Arnie and Barney refuse to sit around doing nothing. They decide on their own to cope with the problem. A series of hilarious adventures they experience, results in they end up saving entire meadow completly by accident and become unexpected heroes.
